ČZ chains for demanding sports such as motocross are characterized by high resistance in dusty and muddy traffic. The ČZ company uses its own CRK technology for these chains, which consists in applying very hard chromium carbides to the surface of the pins. The hardness of these carbides is up to twice as high as that which can be achieved with hardened steel. The pins are refined by heat treatment to high strength in order to resist wear and tensile shocks during operation. The presence of chromium also guarantees resistance to corrosion of the pin surface.
